Does Mr. Malcolm's List Have A Post-Credits Scene? | Screen Rant

Warning! SPOILERS for Mr. Malcolm's List.

Does Mr. Malcolm's List have a post-credits scene showing what happens to the characters after the end of the film? It's very common nowadays for movies to have something after the credits roll, but Mr. Malcolm's List takes a bit of a different approach. Movies often tease a sequel or show a clip that gives insight into the characters' lives, so should audiences stick around after the Mr. Malcolm's List credits begin to roll?

Mr. Malcolm's List is a Regency-era romance with Bridgerton-level drama, including a caricature spreading all the gossip, reminiscent of Bridgterton's Lady Whistledown. The caricatures kick off the action after Julia Thislewaite (Zawe Ashton) is embarrassed by Mr. Malcolm (Sope Dirisu), who keeps a list of characteristics he requires any potential bride to fulfill. Julia does not live up to his expectations. The perfect recourse for being slighted by the handsome Mr. Malcolm is revenge, and Julia enlists the help of her friend, Selina Dalton (Freida Pinto). Julia encourages Selina to pretend to fall in love with Malcolm. Regency hijinks ensue.

Mr. Malcolm's list does not have a post-credits scene in the traditional sense, but there is reason to stick around as the credits roll. Quite a few reasons, actually. Much like The Batman had an interesting end-credit scene, with just a URL link flashing on-screen briefly. Mr. Malcolm's List also takes a unique approach to the ever-present after-credits scene. Since most credit scenes are reserved for superhero movies, or for teasing the next movie in an installment or franchise, it was surprising to see the Regency romance have something at the end.

The ever-important caricatures that are central to the plot of Mr. Malcolm's List return at the end of the film, creating a unique and fascinating new kind of post-credits scene. The caricatures come until the very end of the credits, so it's important to stick around the entire time. Each one gives a quick reveal about many different characters in the film, not just the main characters in Mr. Malcolm's List.

It is also worth sticking around to see all of the hard work that went into making the Regency-era costumes, set, and more by acknowledging the hundreds of people who put time and effort into making Mr. Malcolm's List. Staying to watch the credits also gives time to digest the film and really let it settle, while listening to more of Amelia Warner's impressive score. The post-credit caricatures in Mr. Malcolm's List give audiences a glimpse into the lives of the many characters following the film's ending.
