The second season of Double Shot At Love With DJ Pauly D and Vinny is coming to a close next week. Pauly and Nikki Hall are officially dating, but Vinny's relationship status has yet to be revealed. Here's everything to know about his possible girlfriend, Maria Elizondo.
On the first season of Double Shot At Love, Vinny and Maria had an instant connection. Fans were excited about their goofy relationship. As the season progressed, Maria became more nervous around Vinny, and had trouble opening up to him. In a dramatic "Cab Ceremony," Vinny chose to send Maria home because he didn't think their relationship could progress. "When you get out of your way, you're funny and probably one of the most interesting people I've ever met in my life," Vinny said to her, "I may regret this, [but] Maria, your cab is here." Although she was hurt, Maria agreed to come back for season 2, after Vinny's relationship with winner Alysse Joyner ended. During the season, she and Vinny have grown close. They had sex and have been on great dates but haven't used the terms boyfriend and girlfriend. Fans are eager to hear what their relationship is like now, especially after Pauly's reveal that he and Nikki are still together.
Before she was on Double Shot At Love, Maria was a contestant on MTV's Are You The One? She may have not gotten much screen time, but it was enough to build a solid fan base. In a YouTube video, she revealed that her match on AYTO turned out to have a girlfriend. She had been cheated on before by an older man that she thought was deeply in love with her. Maria said of the relationship, "I would just stay the night, and anything I needed he would always be so willing to be there for me and give it to me...You would think that it's stuff that people do for the person that they want to be with. You don't think that this is something you do for everyone." She applied for Double Shot At Love after her disappointing experience on Are You The One?
Maria has also been through some dark times in her life. She opened up about her experience with sexual harassment in a YouTube video in June, 2020. Maria told her story of being sexually harassed by her boss. She doesn't name the company, job or man, but she tells her fans that it began with flirty comments and escalated to the man suggesting that they have sex. Maria called him out on his behavior, and he fired her shortly after. "You sexually assaulted me, and I called you on it," Maria said in her video, "You are a sexual assault aggressor. So, if you are watching this, you're lucky I didn't say your name." Maria's YouTube channel is quite successful, with over 20,000 subscribers.
