With many characters set to return for the upcoming threequel, Morena Baccarin is sharing some insight for Vanessa's appearance in Deadpool 3. Baccarin starred in the first two installments of the X-Men spinoff franchise as the love interest for Ryan Reynolds' titular Merc with a Mouth, serving as the catalyst for the first sequel's plot as she's killed and Wade grapples with her loss. The end of the sequel saw Wade using Cable's time-travel device to stop Vanessa from being killed, leaving the door open for her return in the Deadpool 3 cast alongside fellow returning stars Reynolds, Brianna Hildebrand, Leslie Uggams, Karan Soni, Stefan Kapičić, Rob Delaney and Shioli Kustuna.
