One of the most influential story arcs from the Boruto anime that the manga never adapted is the Mitsuki Disappearance Arc. As the name implies, it revolves around Mitsuki, who is still a complete enigma in the manga despite having a crucial connection to one of Naruto's greatest big bads as he is the supposed son of Orochimaru. Though the manga revealed that he's a partial clone of Orochimaru in a special prequel chapter, the manga never gives him as much focus as his squadmates Boruto and Sarada. Fortunately, the anime's best arc gave him his time to shine.
