Few things visually define Star Wars as much as lightsabers, but the “laser swords” have changed a lot since the original trilogy. From Obi-Wan’s conversation about the past with Luke in the original Star Wars to Rey’s yellow lightsaber at the end of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the kyber crystal-powered blades have received new colors, different shapes, and multiple lore implications. Between Legends and the Disney canon, lightsabers have their own, longer chapter in Star Wars history.
