Colt first appeared on 90 Day Fiancé with his ex-wife Larissa Lima, and the couple later appeared on 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? as well. Colt later returned for 90 Day: The Single Life season 1, where he expressed an interest in Vanessa, whom he had been close friends with for some time. While Vanessa initially rejected Colt, she later gave him a chance and the two ended up getting married secretly not long after.
