Genshin Impact Confirms Collei, Dori, & Tighnari As Playable For 3.0

Players will be able to obtain Sumeru characters Collei, Dori, & Tighnari in Genshin Impact's Version 3.0 update. Following the delay of 2.7 in May, Genshin Impact's Version 2.8 Summer Fantasia update is finally set to launch on July 13, 2022. Ahead of the anticipated patch, HoYoverse surprised fans by revealing that Sumeru's first characters Collei, Dori, and Tighnari will be playable seemingly in the Version 3.0 update that is scheduled for later this year.

Ever since the launch of Genshin Impact in 2020, players have been excited to dive into Teyvat's fourth region Sumeru. With Inazuma making its debut in July 2021's 2.0 update, it's been almost a year since the free-to-play RPG has gotten such major new territory added to its expansive map. HoYoverse gave players their first glimpse at the new Dendro region in July by confirming the first Genshin Impact Sumeru characters that will be playable.

HoYoverse made the surprise announcement on July 11 via Twitter, after revealing Sumeru characters Collei, Dori, and Tighnari on the official Genshin Impact Twitter account. Tighnari and Collei are rangers in Sumeru's Avidya Forest and will both be ranged Dendro bow users. In a third post, the developer confirmed that Dori will be Sumeru's first Electro hero and is said to be one of the region's best merchants.

While HoYoverse hasn't officially given out any more additional information on the three new heroes, Genshin Impact leakers claim that Tighnari will also be Sumeru's first five-star character, while Dori and Collei will be available as 4-star heroes. Datamining from the game's 2.8 beta test also seems to hint at Dori being an Electro claymore user. Based on everything revealed so far about the anticipated 3.0 update, Genshin Impact's Sumeru region could end up being the game's largest territory ever released.

Genshin Impact's 2.8 update officially kicks off on July 13 and features the highly-anticipated rerun banners of 5-star heroes Kazuha and Klee. The Summer season will also feature the debut of the new 4-star Anemo character Shikanoin Heizou, and 4-star weapons Cursed Blade. With the 2.8 update officially being the final chapter of the second phase of Genshin Impact's storyline, many have speculated that its end date on August 24 could also be the release date of version 3.0 and the new Sumeru characters. However, the massive Sumeru update could also launch in September if there are any development delays.

There is still a lot of mystery surrounding the 3.0 Sumeru region, such as the new Genshin Impact Dendro Archon Kusanali. The 5-star archon was first rumored in a series of leaks from April and is yet to be officially announced. Based on previous release cycles and HoYoverse's early announcement, it's likely that at least part of Collei, Dori, and Tighnari will be available in the first phase of Genshin Impact's 3.0 Banner - which will launch later this Summer.
