90 Day Fiancé star Ben Rathbun has stood Mahogany Roca up in a preview of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days episode 13 after feeling “stuck” in their relationship. 52-year-old Ben is head over heels in love with 22-year-old Mahogany, despite him finding out that she’s his daughter’s age. Mahogany literally catfishing him by lying about how she looks in real life and later pretending a rental is her own house also didn’t deter former pastor Ben from pursuing the Peruvian woman. But it was when law student Mahogany started questioning Ben’s past with his exes that he’s now feeling “weird” about the entire situation.
During Sunday’s episode, Ben found out Mahogany had friend-zoned him. While Mahogany spoke to him about marriage and kids during their three months of chatting, she didn’t think of him as her “boyfriend.” Mahogany justified her decision by telling Ben he’d never once asked her if they were dating. Moreover, she questioned his past and his failed relationships, which made Ben put the blame on his exes. Mahogany judged “perfect” Ben’s character as she asked him to admit to his own faults and mistakes. But Ben claimed he didn’t have to defend himself because those days were behind him. During his 90 Day Fiancé confessional, Ben mocked Mahogany for having questioned his past when he was choosing to ignore the “holes” in her story.
A preview of what happens next between Ben and Mahogany was shared by 90 Day Fiancé on YouTube. It shows Mahogany chatting with her parents, Jose and Silvia, at a restaurant as they wait for Ben to join them. But the cameras show Ben is still in his room packing as he declares he’s “stuck” because Mahogany chose not to respond to his “10 pages of text.” He explains the texts included him assuring Mahogany that his relationship with his ex-wife is good, along with “all the answers she needed” about his 27-year-old ex-fiancé. “I don’t know how you do that to somebody when they pour their heart out,” Ben confesses.
He reveals that the very first verse that popped up for him during his morning devotions was “there is no fear in love,” which perfectly explains Mahogany’s predicament. Ben highlights how Mahogany is afraid of Ben’s intentions, and she’s afraid of what her parents and friends would say about him. Ben intends to push Mahogany “over the edge” by skipping breakfast, even if it means “hardening her heart” even more against him. “I don’t want to be just over the fence this whole time,” says Ben, who is perhaps expecting an apology from Mahogany for what she did.
What Ben is refusing to understand is that Mahogany is simply afraid of getting involved with a man who refuses to take accountability for the issues in his history, even at his age. When Ben should be giving Mahogany space to come to terms with his true intentions, he is sulking and proving how immature he is. Ben’s creepy and bizarre behavior has been scrutinized by fans right from the start of his journey on 90 Day Fiancé. According to fans, Ben running away just goes to show he planned on manipulating Mahogany into marrying him and is now scared that she’s not the gullible 22-year-old he expected. Perhaps Ben needs to read the room before flying 4,000 miles for a woman who asked him not to come in the first place.
