Minecraft Player Builds Functioning Clock Face With Working Hands

A skilled Minecraft player has created a functional clock with moving hands in the game and shared their creation with the community. Mojang Studios' esteemed indie game is both a 3D survival and sandbox game. Various multiplayer modes allow players to use Minecraft as a creative outlet with an almost unlimited number of possibilities. Although Minecraft was released in 2011, it has remained consistently popular for over a decade.

Minecraft is successful not only as a game, but also in its appearance on social media. The procedurally generated block game is one of the most streamed and watched games, and the community is very large. Players in the vast community frequently design and share striking and intense Minecraft creations, including a stunning recreation of Avatar's Southern Air Temple. Minecraft is seemingly endless, and the existence of varying world seeds offers players new and exciting environments to explore and build in. Minecraft's Creative Mode makes building large projects easy because typically hostile mobs are neutral toward the player, and all objects in the game are available in the user's inventory.

Recently, a player designed a fully functional stopwatch in Minecraft, equipped with three working hands. In the video uploaded to Reddit by ALEXEID0S, the creator shared their clock by first showing a color-key for the hands and then a quick view of the inner workings. ALEXEIDoS then flies, an ability only available in Minecraft's Creative Mode, and provides an overhead shot of an hour passing. The second, minute, and hour hands all move according to the amount of time that has passed. The construction is very impressive, and, although a tutorial has not been provided yet, a player in the comments did ask for one. With a brief glimpse of the underneath of the clock, it appears that ALEXEID0S has used mainly specialized command blocks, which allow players to use console commands to run a command of their choice. These blocks are fueled by Minecraft's Redstone components that are very complex and sometimes confusing, especially to newer players.

Since Minecraft is a fan-favorite, Mojang Studios has consistently added new updates, and players are always looking for new ways to interact with the environment. Although there is a story mode in the game, it is often overlooked by those who prefer creating or designing their own game modes. This year, the community can expect the release of Minecraft's The Wild update that will add new biomes, mobs, and blocks types, as well as revamp existing aspects of the game. The update is set to release in full later this year, but players were recently gifted a snapshot of The Wild and all the deep, dark, and beautiful new additions it will bring.

Creations in Minecraft are often breathtaking, especially given the challenges of creating detailed and functional designs using only blocks. The upcoming update may inspire the community further, encouraging them to create even more impressive builds, like ALEXEIDoS' functioning clock, using the new items that will be introduced. It will be exciting to see what else players will build and share on social media.
