Cauldron MU in Horizon Forbidden West is the first of many that Aloy will encounter, locating and activating them will allow her to override a handful of new machines. In this brave new world, Aloy must travel to the depths of the sea and the tops of mountains to uncover the truth of the Forbidden West. A plague is killing everything it encounters, and it's up to Aloy to find out what's causing it. While not every Cauldron needs to be completed, collecting them all makes it easier to interact with the world. The more machines Aloy can take control of, the more versatility they'll have on the field.
Cauldron MU can be found to the northwest of Stone's Edge of Horizon Forbidden West. There will be Scroungers and Leaplashers blocking the entrance that Aloy can take out with her spear. After beating them, override the door and take one of the two vents to the main entrance. Now, Aloy will need to ride down three cables to make it to a small platform. Below this will be another group of machines to take out and is where Cauldron MU truly begins.
After drafting this group of machines, there will be a ramp with a Network Overline for Aloy to override. Doing this will open up a bridge across the chasm, after crossing the bridge, turn to the right and take down another machine. There will be a chasm for Aloy to cross that she can use the Shieldwing in Horizon Forbidden West or one of the cargo machines to cross. There will be a way to turn off the barrier to continue through the pathway. Activate it and head through the triangular doorway to find another machine.
Beat this machine in Horizon Forbidden West and there will be a giant mechanical arm. Aloy will now need to wait until it gets close enough to jump on it and use it to get to the next area. There will be another door for Aloy to override with another two machines to defeat. In this will be a slope with a railing that Aloy can climb. Find this path to activate the node to cross this bridge. Head to where the first mechanical arm is and use it to cross over to the second one. From the second arm, head up to the vents and then to the onto the cargo machine. Take this cargo ride until the end of the line.
Jump to the arm like before and now head over to the third arm. From the third arm, jump to the fourth arm to another cargo machine. Ride it out to the doorway and override it to face off against the Widemaws. After clearing them out, the mission has been completed, Cauldron MU will reveal itself and Aloy can now override it. Players will be rewarded with 87,000 XP, three Skill Points, and tons of new overrides. Aloy will now be able to take control of Burrowers, Scounrgers regularly, and Grazers, Scrapps, Gangs Horns, and Widemaws with the proper crafting recipe. Collecting every Cauldron in Horizon Forbidden West should be on every player's objective list.
