Disney is urging fans not to spoil Eternals following the film's premiere. While the MCU film won't see its wide release in theaters until November 5, Eternals just held its world premiere in Los Angeles on October 18. While reviews are under embargo for now, early reactions to Eternals have begun making their way online, many praising the film's epic action and emotion. Unfortunately, information about a big reveal during one of the post-credits scenes leaked online soon after the premiere.
Written and directed by recent Oscar-winner Chloé Zhao, Eternals features an impressive ensemble cast led by Angelina Jolie as Thena and Salma Hayek as Ajak. Audiences will surely recognize many other faces in the Marvel film, including Gemma Chan as Sersi, Richard Madden as Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo, Brian Tyree Henry as Phastos, and Barry Keoghan as Druig. The film will also introduce Lia McHugh as Sprite, Lauren Ridloff as Makkari, and Don Lee as Gilgamesh. These ten make up the titular superhero team known as the Eternals, an alien race that has been living on Earth for thousands of years and must now band together to protect humanity from their evil counterparts known as the Deviants.
Now that Eternals has had its world premiere, Disney's President of Marketing, Asad Ayaz, is taking to Twitter to urge fans and those in the press who have seen the film during early screenings to not share spoilers on social media. This, Ayaz says, will help protect the experience of watching the film and experiencing its reveals, which many have worked hard to keep secret. Read Ayaz's full post below:

Ayaz's plea is undoubtedly a response to information about Eternals' post-credits scene leaking online mere hours after the world premiere. This can understandably be frustrating for those at Marvel who have worked tirelessly for so long through the various COVID-19 delays to protect this major reveal, only to have it spoiled about two weeks out from the film's wide release. This has to be especially disappointing for a studio like Marvel, which is known to place a very high premium on secrecy.
Eternals is perhaps the most anticipated movie of the fall and a spoiler leaking online likely isn't going to damper that excitement in the slightest. Marvel can still learn from this experience and maybe consider not including the post-credit scenes during early press screenings. For those who have been able to avoid the major spoiler lurking around online, they will be able to experience Eternals' huge post-credits reveal when it premieres in theaters early next month.
