Family Guy Characters Become Among Us Crewmates In Crossover Art

The official Family Guy Twitter shared suspicious crossover fan art featuring its characters as crewmates from Among Us. The hit comedy TV show's social media page made a recurring trend out of sharing weekly art with the tag #fanartfriday, highlighting online artists who incorporate Family Guy's iconic designs and characters into their work. This week's art combined those characters with developer Innersloth's popular multiplayer game.

Among Us recently encountered a less-supported copycat controversy concerning another popular online game, Fortnite. It was initially believed that Fortnite and Among Us would have a crossover of their own, but InnerSloth debunked those theories soon after they were spread around the internet. Instead, Fortnite later introduced an "Imposters Mode" that was conspicuously similar to the core gameplay of Among Us. Devs at Innersloth admitted that they were disappointed by the new game mode not being the result of communication between the respective games' studios, lamenting the lack of support independent publishers get from their larger AAA development cousins.

The fanart shared on Family Guy's Twitter contrasts that controversy by officially highlighting the work of an independent artist named Clementina Ghilardi. Ghilardi's crossover creation makes 9 of Family Guy's recognizable characters into Among Us crewmates, complete with their representative backpacks and visors. Peter, Lois, Stewie, Brian, Chris, Meg, Glenn, Joe, and Cleveland all get sus depictions in a series of posts. Complete with their two-limbed spacesuit designs, the cast looks ready to form a crew and complete tasks together.

Among Us has also played host to a series of other fan-made crossovers by way of modding. Other well-known video games like Pokémon and Super Mario Bros. have appeared in-game as mods, as well as additional television characters and personalities, including John Cena and the mischievous Loki. The game's seminal crewmate designs have even engendered an official crossover with another beloved multiplayer game. In March of this year, season 4 of Fall Guys introduced Among Us skins for players to enjoy, opening opportunities for future official crossovers with time. With luck, Ghilardi's work and Family Guy's social media support could spell a licensed collaboration between the admired properties.

Looking toward the future, Among Us has announced a new update to be on the horizon with no set release date. A new game mode and map will be added once it launches. Meanwhile, Family Guy will return to Fox on September 26th, and fans can expect more #fanartfridays from the show's Twitter account during the wait.
