Jay Smith and Ashley Martson appear to be divorcing for good this time around. The 90 Day Fiancé star has made things official with the other woman, Kayla O’Brien, but who is she?
Jay Smith is currently married to his former co-star, Ashley Martson. Viewers originally met Jay and Ashley on the sixth season of 90 Day Fiance. They got married in May of 2018, but their relationship has been chaotic ever since. In January 2019, Ashley and Jay filed for divorce. A few weeks later, Martson admitted that the split was fake and withdrew her petition. The couple remained together after this incident, but there were cheating allegations and legal orders involved. In April 2019, Ashley filed for divorce a second time, but reunited with Jay earlier this year. Now, Ashley has filed for divorce a third time. It looks like the marriage is finally over for Jay and Ashley because he’s committed to someone else.
While Ashley appears to be single, Jay has a new girlfriend by the name of Kayla. According to Hollywood Gossip, she is a bottle service girl, not a stripper as Ashley previously implied. The new couple were originally linked last year. The cheating allegations between Jay and Ashley were allegedly over Kayla. The timeline of the love triangle is unclear, some say Jay and Kayla were together as early as January 2019. They started dating amidst the second divorce filing between Jay and Ashley, but broke up towards the end of 2019. In September, Ashley appeared at a party that Jay and Kayla attended. “God help him if he’s messing with Ashley again,” O’Brien said. Following the breakup, Kayla stated, “We were happy. We always had a good time together. We didn’t fight. We still acted like best friends.” She felt the she “always did way more for him” in their relationship. She added, “Deep down, I think he is a good person, but he’s just lost.”
Jay and Kayla have evidently started up their relationship again because they’re living together in Pennsylvania. O’Brien confirmed their relationship on social media, as shown in the post above. Smith hasn’t confirmed the relationship on his Instagram. On July 4, Jay was transferred to an ICE detention centre after he violated a protection order filed by Ashley. At the time, Kayla was just a “friend” to Jay and helped raise money for a good lawyer and to get him out of the detention center. “The sad truth, the shocking truth is not what people are seeing,” O’Brien wrote on the GoFundMe page which is now closed. “I have visited him and he is his upbeat and positive self as much as he can be right now but he needs our help… Help this innocent, sweet happy man fight for his freedom!”
It appears that Jay and Kayla are happy right now. However, Jay seems to flip between Ashley and Kayla. There’s a chance that he might cheat again causing more drama in this complex love triangle. Hopefully the 90 Day Fiancé star can find happiness with his new girlfriend.
